4th Paolo Fabbri Summer School of Semiotic Methodology
Circolo Semiologico Siciliano presents the fourth edition of the Paolo Fabbri Summer School of Semiotic Methodology. A week of lectures, workshops, and conferences aimed at undergraduate students, doctoral candidates, and researchers in the field.
The theme of this edition is Political Rhetoric: Actions and Passions. The goal of the sessions is to provide tools for understanding strategies of political discourse analysis: from strategic communication to the visual identity of political forces, from the use of old and new media in shaping the identity of leaders to the journalistic narratives that emerge around them. Aware that politics is not only about action, but also about emotions – through which individuals and communities define and shape themselves.
Through methodological lectures, case study analysis workshops, and evening talks with scholars and professionals, the fourth edition of the Summer School explores a topic on which semiotics has long worked, and which today, more than ever, calls for a new reflection.
The official language of the school is Italian, but we encourage international participants to speak in their own language, fostering mutual understanding among the Romance languages within the semiotic community promoted by FedRos.
There are 50 available spots, 5 of which are covered by scholarships funded by the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum. The call for participant selection is available at this link:
