Toutes deux constituent des champs disciplinaires tr\u00e8s vastes, qui comprennent des sous-domaines d\u2019\u00e9tude relativement autonomes, dont l\u2019objet est dans tous les cas multiforme. Si l\u2019anthropologie \u00e9tudie l\u2019humain, les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s et les cultures humaines, elle multiplie pour ce faire ses focales, ses m\u00e9thodes, ses approches et ses vis\u00e9es, se penchant tant sur le processus biologique d\u2019hominisation et les vestiges arch\u00e9ologiques des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s pass\u00e9es que sur la dimension symbolique et les diverses pratiques inh\u00e9rentes aux cultures et souscultures contemporaines.
