The implications of artificial intelligence (AI), in a semiotic perspective, were recognized several decades ago, even before the expression was used (Gardin, 1989). The topic is especially important today as AI continues to break new ground, both in terms of capabilities and use, in particular in relation to the practices of everyday life. By reflecting on the human understanding and human behaviors of communicating, judging, learning, etc., this call aims to explore the strategies used to collect, translate, valorize, negotiate and re-communicate information through artificial intelligence and the implications related to the comprehension of knowledge in terms of Lotman’s concept of semiosphere (1984).
